Conflict No 1

[COMMENT TO WEBMASTER:  This home page should be included in this blog but be revised a bit.  It should remain AS IS in sciencereligionunified blog.BBB]

The Bible says:

Gen 1:1-3 (KJV)   In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon; the face of the deep.  And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.  And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.

Science says:

In the beginning there was nothing.  Suddenly, about 13 billion years ago, there was a Big Bang, a stupendous explosion with a brilliant flash of light that came from a single point in space!  Everything that ever was, everything that is, and everything that will ever be; flew outward, in all directions, from that tiny speck in space.  The momentary blast of light flew outward, leaving behind, other slower-flying particles which became neutrinos, quarks, and electrons–the quarks then combined to form protons and neutrons.  When the expansion cooled down somewhat, the protons and electrons formed atoms of hydrogen, in an excited form, and as the electrons shifted to the lower energy shells, those atoms emitted flashes of light in all directions.

Where is the significant difference between these accounts in terms of what a human being can see?  The scientific account dwells on the details that science has  learned within the last 200 years.  The Bible account gives us the summary in terms of what a human can see.

Do you want to Continue seeing the comparison between the Bible and scientific accounts of the Creation, or are you satisfied that there is no significant conflict between them?

Sacredness of Creation is a PowerPoint Show with pictures and an audio presentation of the Biblical story of Creation in the language of a child but is told in the sequence suggested by scientific evidence.  SCIENCE SAYS Evolution is a PDF document that presents the logic of unifying the scientific findings with the Biblical account–it has suggestions for rethinking BOTH the ‘young earth’ approach which holds that the earth is only about 6000 years old and the unbelieving scientist who reads the geological evidence as contradicting the Bible.
